York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Department joined thousands of citizens in the nationwide movement to reaffirm God’s place in the public square by



Rep. J. Randy Forbes (VA) and the CPCF have presented Speaker Boehner (pictured) and over 100 other Members of Congress with a plaque to hang in their offices in the Capitol. It’s a proud reminder of this important phrase that originated more than 150 years ago. Originally approved by Congress in 1864, the phrase comes from the Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” On this important anniversary, the Speaker said: “I’m proud to commemorate and reaffirm the appropriateness of our national motto and I’m proud to have this plaque hanging in my office. ‘In God We Trust’ speaks to all of our citizens, and it’s not just a source of pride for us, it is a beacon of hope for the world.” Read more »
