A Texas county Tax Assessor added “In God We Trust” to the Tarrant County official correspondence. The national motto, which appears on U.S. currency, was printed on the Tarrant County tax assessor’s envelopes and next year will be printed on tax statements. Mr. Wright says, “It is a timely reminder of the values upon which our nation was founded. It’s historic, it’s iconic. Things that are iconic to Americans, like the motto, and the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem have helped define us as a nation.”
